HÛT ARCHITECTURE | Curtain Road

HÛT have recently received planning for the sensitive refurbishment and substantial extension of the considerable grade II listed Curtain House, on Curtain Road in Shoreditch, London. Following the typical ‘Shoreditch style’, the design proposal for Curtain Road reflects the scale and proportions which are characteristic of local Victorian warehouses. Clad in corten steel, extensions appear lightweight in comparison to the existing brick construction. The colour of the weathered steel is complementary to the London stock brick, yet clearly defines old from new
